SEQUEL TO MOTOR FATALITY WOMAN AWARDED £I3BO iJ-Eft United Press Association) HASTINGS, Nov. 6. Damages amounting to £I3BO were awarded Mrs Mary Richardson in the Supreme Court at Napier to-day in a case arising out of a fata] collision between a car and a cycle. The defendant, Sydney Victor Baumfleld, in his evidence, said that the victim was cycling on the wrong side of the road, and the motorist attempted to overtake and pass inside the cycle. The cyclist swerved back to his correct side and was struck by the car and killed. The jury found that the driver of the car had the last opportunity of avoiding the accident, and found in favour of the plaintiff by a majority verdict. . The defending counsel gave notice of his intention to apply for a retrial.
