TO-NIGHT’S RECITAL IN CONCERT CHAMBER Ignaz Friedman pianist, has played in five continents and gathered laurels wherever he has gone. During his recent Commonwealth tour for the Australian Broadcasting Commission musical critics in all centres vied with one another in praising his masterful playing. This indicates that Friedman is at the very zenith of his powers, and the opportunity of hearing him should

not be missed. The main article ol Friedman’s musical faith was once summed up in a brief sentence: “ There is good music and bad music, but never modern and antiquated music I know no composer more modern than Bach.” This affords a wonderfully clear insight into the comprehending personality of the man His is the splendid gift of regarding music as bevond the bounds of time and space. Ignaz Friedman will present a programme in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall to-night As the proceeds will be given to the Otago patriotic funds a record attendance is expected.
