The engagement is announced between Company Sergeant-major James Gerard Gowan, eldest son of Mrs Gowan, of New Brighlon, Christchurch, and the late Mr T. J. Gowan, and Ethel May (Rua), eldest daughter of Mr Percy Braithwaite, of Dunedin, and the late Mrs Braithwaite. '¥• * The engagement is announced between Robert Hunter, only son of Mrs Wade, of Oamaru, and the late Mr R. H. Wade, and Avelda Grace, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs P. J. Petersen, of “ Ivondale,” Waitara. The charge for engagement notices is Is per line. Such notices must be signed by the two parties concerned.
