CHASED TO TANGIER
ITALIAN SUBMARINE INTERNMENT EXPECTED (British Official Wireless) ' : : RUGBY, Nov. 4. Agency messages state that sin Italian submarine has entered Tangier harbour. Legal circles in London point out that, if this is true, unless the submarine.is damaged and effects repairs within 24 hours she must surrender herself and : her crew for internment. A later message states that the submarine was chased by British destroyers and planes into Tangier harbour. It is authoritatively stated in London that it is expected that the Spanish Resident-general will do his duty in ordering internment after 24 hours, bfherwiSe it will, be a breach of; neutrality.
