SERVICE AT CAMPS WIDESPREAD ACTIVITIES Anyone visiting the Forbury .or Wingatui camps will be struck immediately by the excellent contribution made by the Y.M.C.A. to the comfort of the territorials. Reading and writing rooms are provided m the small totalisator building at Forbury where thousands of sheets of Y.M.C.A. writing paper are distributed each week. A marquee with two table tennis tames is adjacent, and in the canteen bunding nearby hundreds of men gather nightly for the Id cup of tea or cocoa and Id cakes. Similar facilities are provided at Wingatui, Over 80 dozen cakes, in addition to biscuits and block cake are used every day at both Forbury and Wingatui. The Dunedin Y.M.C.A. has arranged for its women’s auxiliary to assist m the buffets every night at Wingatui and Forbury, and other women are also volunteering. The Sunday tea was attended by 80 soldiers. The New Zealand Y.M.C.A, is now engaged in a wide network of military and Air Force camps throughout the Dominion, as follows:—Military: Narrow North Head, Papakura, Avondale, Epsom racecourse, Ngaruawahia Te Aroha, Rotorua, Cambridge, Claudelands. Te Rapa. Waverley, Wanganui, Foxton, Dannevirke, Whangarei, Addington. Trentham (two centres), ( Heretaunga Winter Show. Waiouru, For- 1 bury Park, Wingatui. Burnham, and Tauherenikau. Air Force (some just opening): Hobsonville, Weraroa, Ohakea, Rongotai, Wigram, Harewood, Blenheim. Taieri, New Plymouth, Phen-~ napai, and Nelson. The wide r£lhm-.. cation of the service will be appfeci-; ated. • Y.M.C.A. headquarters at Taieri Aerodrome will be ready in a few days. Here as in other Air Force camps, the Y.M.C.A. will conduct a post office.
