ANNUAL SPORTS MEETING FIVE RECORDS BROKEN ELVIDGE SENIOR CHAMPION Tlie John McGlashan College held its annual sports meeting at Logan Park yesterday Although the weather was fine, it was windy, but despite this good times were made and five records were broken. The senior championship was won by Elvidge, 16 points, with Allan, 13 points, as runner-up, and McDouall third with six points. The junior champion was McCraig with 13 points, with Trengrove in second place, 12 points. In the mile race McDouall oroke A. W. Sutherland’s 1932 record of 4min 54sec by 4-5 of a second. McCraig had two records to his credit, clipping 2-5 of a second off the Junior 100 Yards record of 12sec established by J M. Sidey in 1925, and in the Junior Long Jump he covered 16ft IJin, an outstanding effort which bettered by 9i inches the record set by D. I Perrin in 1921. In the Intermediate 440 Yards, Irvine clipped 1-5 of a second off R. T Martin’s record of 59 l-ssec which was set in 1936. The 440 Yards Senior record was also broken by 1 3-ssec, Elvidge reducing T.
