ST. CLAIR WOMEN’S CLUB
The twenty-sixth annual meeting and closing social of the St. Clair Women’s Club was held on Monday evening, the retiring president, Mrs D. A. Young, occupying the chair. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs Douglas Barton; senior vice-president, Mrs I. Archbold: junior vice-president, Mrs J, McLachlan; secretary, Mrs J. Booker; treasurer, Mrs W. Daglish (re-elected); supper conveners. Mrs E. H Ombler and Mrs W. J. McLauchlan; general committee —Mesdames Charles Thomson, W. Gibson, D. Paine, W. Turnbull, and G. Palmer. An enjoyable social in the form of a great artist radio orchestra was presented, the items being as follows; —Studio orchestra, conducted by Mrs Douglas Barton; solos by Miss Thelma Thomson, Mrs J. Eustace, and Mrs W. Gibson; humorous duet, Mesdames P. Bardsley and P. J. Rendel; recitations, Mrs W. Turnbull a short talk on “The Willow Pattern,” Mrs D. Paine, assisted by Mrs T. Davie and Mrs C. Thomson; musical clue competition, won by Mrs J. Brooks; short sketches, “The eggs,” by Mesdames W. Turnbull and W. Daglish; “Manpower,” a melodrama by Mesdames D. A. Young and P. Bardsley; and "At the Photographer by the committee- and Mrs E. H. Ombler.
