WOMEN’S BOWLING
NEW SEASON STARTED On Wednesday the Otago Ladies' Bowling Association opened the season 1940-41 on the greens at Logan Park, there being an excellent attendance of bowlers. The president of the centre (Mrs G. Columbus) welcomed the visitors and wished them an enjoyable afternoon. She also referred to the excellent condition of the greens, due to the supervision of Mr F. J. Campbell and the two grecnkeepers. and expressed the centre’s appreciation of the work done by these men. The Mayor (Mr A. H, Allen) wished the association a successful season, and Mr Butler, on behalf of the men’s centre, extended his best wishes. The supervisor (Mr Campbell) congratulated the association on having obtained two greens which compared favourably with any in the city. Mrs Columbus then called on the Mayoress to roll the first bowl of the season.
