Reports of meetings ol branches are requested but they should bo furnished promptly tor the publication of reports that are not supplied within a weefe from the date of the meeting cannot he promised.

The monthly meeting of the Otakou branch was held on Thursday last, Mrs Harwood presiding. The roll call was “ Subs., please.” The competitions resulted: Narcissi bloom—Mrs T. Harwood and Miss B. Harwood (equal) 1, Mrs H. Harwood 3, Miss L. Harwood 4; polyanthus—Mrs T. Harwood and Miss B. Harwood (equal) 1, Mrs H. Harwood 3: narcissi (juniors)—Miss N. Douglass 1 The sum of 10s was granted towards the leper funds. The hostesses were Misses L. Burns and N. Kauhu.

Mrs Mudie presided over the monthly meeting of the Tahatika branch, held on Wednesday last. A competition. “Kitchen articles,” which had been arranged by the secretary, Mrs McNab. was won by two members, Mrs Mudie drawing the ticket which decided the successful competitor.

The monthly meeting of the Moa Flat branch was held on Tuesday afternoon last, Mrs Yardley presiding. It was decided to support the fund opened at headquarters in aid of the gift fighting plane Dr Bowie spoke to members on “ Simple Remedies iov Everyday Ailments," the talk proving very' useful. Miss O. Caffell thanked the'speaker. The competitions resulted; Jar of marmalade —Mrs H. G. Dun 1, Mrs W. H. Walker 2. Mrs H. A. Duff 3; bloom—Miss Z. Heath 1. Mrs Yardley 2. Mrs H. G. Duff 3.

The meeting of the Upper Waitakl branch was held on Wednesday last, when Mrs McLean presided, and gave a report on the executive meeting held in Oamaru on September 13. It was decided to give the sum of £1 to the Lener Fund. The competitions resulted: —Girdle scones. Mrs Hay 1. Miss McKenzie 2; spring flowers—Mrs Small 1, Mrs McLean 2. Mrs Shanks 3; hand-knitted singlet, Mrs Shanks 1. Mrs Hay 2. The hostesses were Mes - dames T. A. Munro, D. E. Neave. and Robinson. After the meeting a “ Bring and Buy Sale” was held, the proceeds being in aid of the W.D.F.U. war effort.
