UNEMPLOYED BENEFITS
HOUSE OF COMMONS BILL (British Official Wireless! RUGBY, June 26. (Received June 27, at 7 p.m.) The Unemployment Insurance Bill was introduced in the House of Commons It provides for an increase in the benefit rates by a maximum of 3s a week, also increases in contributions and extends the scheme to a large new class by including those earning £420 a year. The cost of livjng has increased 17 per cent, since the outbreak of war, which is the Government's principal reason for increasing the basic rates of benefit.
