Caradust in an interview said there was a mistaken impression that youths who had not passed matriculation were not acceptable as candidates for appointments as pilots and observers. The true position was that the R.N.Z.A.F. had arranged tuition classes, and. by attending these, all youths had an opportunity of attaining the educational standard required m trainees for pilot and observer appointments.
