FINE, BUT COOL Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Southerly winds mainly light or moderate, but strong at times on the coast. Weather fair to fine and cold. Sea moderating, but with a considerable southerly swell. Dominion .^Forecast.—The anti-cyclone located in the central Tasman Sea is moving slowly towards New Zealand. Pressure is very low south of the Chatham Islands. Weather for most part fair to fine. Isolated showers continuing, however, in the Auckland Peninsula and on the coast. In the far south cold nights, with sharp or hard frosts inland. Moderate day temperatures. Weather in Dunedin.—The sky was again overcast yesterday and a moderate and fresh wind prevailed from the southwest. The barometer rose rapidly to 30.39 inches (1029 millibars) at midnight and the maximum temperature was 49 degrees. Barometer, inches and millibars: 8 a.m., 30.20 (1023); noon, 30.25 (1024); 6 p.m., 30.34 (1027); midnight, 30.39 (1029). Thermometer; 8 a.m., 42 degrees; noon, 47 degrees; 6 p.m., 45 degrees: midnight, 42 degrees. Maximum, 49 degrees: minimum, 39 degrees. Rainfall for 24 hours ended midnight yesterday—. Olin. Sunshine for 24 hours ended midnight yesterday —Before noon, nil; after noon. Oil. _
