The finding of two scraps of burned paper and a piece of photographic film in the letter-box of the Onehunga Drill Hall, Auckland, has given rise to a suggestion of attempted arson. The police and defence authorities stated, however, that it was more likely to be a child’s prank. The military guard on the hall was said to be part of the normal procedure in war-time.
