Mr Peter McSkimming left for Auck-land-by the through express yesterday. Mr J. McG. Wilkie was a passenger, for Wellington by the through express yesterday. The Rev. H. Hogg, who has been m charge of the Presbyterian Church at Opoho for the past four years, and who has accepted a call to the charge at Whakatane, travelled north by the through express yesterday. Cordial references were made by the president, Mr C, E. Tyrrell, at the Roslyn Bowling Club's annual meeting, to the valuable services rendered to bowling over a period of 29 years by Mr R. Trim, of Wellington, who has been appointed manager "of the Invercargill station of the National Broadcasting Service, has arrived in Invercargill to begin his hew duties. Mr J. F. Skedden. who has been manager at Invercargill for two years, has been appointed programme organiser at Christchurch. Prior to their departure from Tapanui, Mrs J. F. Harrison and Miss Harrison were entertained in the Masonic Hall on Friday evening. Unfortunately. Mr Harrison, who is at present a patient in the Tapanui Hospital, was unable to be present. On behalf of the townspeople, the Mayor (Mr W. B. Naylor) presented Mrs Harrison with a wallet of notes, and Miss Dale handed to Miss Harrison a mirror. Mr John Harrison, on behalf of his parents and sister, returned thanks. Mr H. W. Wolstenholm has succeeded Mr Harrison as manager of the Bank of New Zealand.
