ATTITUDE TO WAR FEELING AGAINST ITALY GRAND MUFTI'S VIEWS 'British Official Wireless) (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) RUGBY, June 16. An Agency message from Beirut strikingly illustrates the feeling of the Arab world towards the latest war developments. The Grand Muf.i, whose reputation for piety and learning is great, has declared: “A strong feeling of resentment prevails in Moslem and Arab circles at Italy’s entry into the war on the side of Germany. God will see that the cause of justice is victorious over barbaric aggression.” That the strong sentiment against Italy is not confined to religious circles, is proved by a pamphlet denouncing Italian aggression, issued by the Moslem National You'll Organisation, and by the statement of the head of the Syrian Government that the Arabs and Mbslems are more on the side of the Allies than ever, as they realise “the dreadful consequences they will be exposed to if the Allies fail to win.”
