Reports of meetings ot branches are requested, but they should be furnished promptly, for the publication of reports that are not supplied within, a week from the date of the meeting cannot be promised,
The first meeting of the Wangaloa branch was held on March 27. and was presided over by Mrs W. Johnson. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs A. Cain in her illness. An interesting talk on their visit to the Exhibition was given by Mrs W. and Mrs F. Johnson.
A meeting of the Palmerston branch was held on Friday last, Mrs Boss presiding. Mrs Wedge gave a talk about her meeting with Mrs Noel Adams (Dominion president). Competitions amnged by Mrs Guthrie, Mrs Ward, and Miss Service were won by Mrs Ross, Mrs Grandi and Mrs C.
Coutts respectively. The president presented Miss L. Twaddle with a small parcel in appreciation of her help to the branch. The hostesses were Mrs Ward, Guthrie, and Miss Service. Members of the Farmers’ Union were guests at supper.
The Duntroon branch held its eighth birthday party on Thursday last, when the president welcomed visitors from other' branches. The programme ■ was' as follows:—Pianoforte solo, Mrs A Gibson: vocal duet. Mesdames Muirden and R. Haugh; recitations, Misses J. and L. Haugh; solo, Miss J. Sutherland; play reading—“ The Spinsters of Lush”—Mrs A. Gibson, Misses Norma Haugh, Ethel and Ella Gibson. Elizabeth Francis, and Elna Haugh. At the conclusion of the programme the president (Mrs H. Harvey) presented the prizes won during the year as follows: Sewing--Miss E. Haugh; baking—Mrs Murden; flowers—Mrs G. Sutherland and Miss Priest (equal). In cutting the birthday cake Mrs Meek , wished the Duntroon branch many happy returns. Bouquets were presented to Mrs Meek, Mrs Harvey, and Miss E. Haugh (secretary).
The first meeting for the year of the Maheno-Incholme branch was held on March 27, Mrs Grant presiding; One new member was enrolled. Mrs Newlands gave an interesting account of her visit, to the Exhibition, and Mrs W. Marshall gave a talk, on her travels.
