NORDON CUP CONTEST CANTERBURY BEATS WELLINGTON (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. Mar. 24. In the Nordon Cup swimming carnival C. Cliff, the Christchurch 100 Yards New Zealand backstroke record holder, broke the 220 vards backstroke record by 2 l-ssec, setting a time of 2mm 34 4-ssec. Canterbury beat Wellington for the Nordon Cup in the annual contest. Canterbury won the relay decisively and also won the diving, but Wellington won the water polo.
