Pensions in Britain More than 300,000 women will be aflected by the Old Age Pensions Act, which became law on Thursday. It will come into operation on July 1. The age of pensioners under the contributory scheme will then be lowered from 65 to CO, and the number of women receiving such oensions will be doubled.
