Allen) was hostess at an afternoon tea party yesterday to which the* representatives of various women's organisations were invited to meet the Marchioness of Willingdon, who, with the Marquess of Willingdon, is on a short visit to Dunedin. The reception took place in the Tudor lounge of the Savoy, where five lace-covered tables were prettily decorated with tall vases of godetias and- larkspur, repeating the pink hue of glorious massed hydrangeas. Mrs Allen received her guests wearing a smart ensemble in dark navy silk marocain. with matching hat and scarlet floral ornament at the neckline. Lady Willingdon had chosen a sheer frock patterned in black and white, with which was worn fox furs and a tall smart hat in white straw with touches of black in the cone-shaped crown.
