ANNUAL DRILL DISPLAY The girls.of Columba College yesterday held their annual, drill competition and display in the attractive setting of the school grounds. Pupils from all classes took part in the display, which was given to music, and which included, among the more orthodox routines, an exhibition Vof folk dancing and some special agility exercises. The high standard of work both of individual girls and of the classes as a whole as they went through the various exercises in almost, perfect mason reflected great credit on their drill mistress:, Miss L. Blank, who war in charge of proceedings. , The drill competition was held first, the four finalists selected from the .30 who took part being Monica Lindsay, Barbara Beid, Shirley Johnston, apid Ruth Thomson, who were placeir.in that order after going through the routine once more together. The exhibition was concluded by the girls forming an imposing tableau pyramid, after which various sports awards were presented by Mrs V. E. Galway as follows: - Drill Stripes.—First year: B. Cameron, B. McKnight, D. Hewitt, N. Millard, G. MacCallum, E. Galway, N. Johnson, D. Smith, M. Douglas, D. Williamson, M, Gilchrist, C. Dunn, F. Cree-Brown. Second year: P. Yardley, N. Charteres, E. Roy, P. Blair, E. McKnight. D. Sutherland, C. Trotter H. Hay. Third year: J. Pin nett, A. ' Borrie. M. Grey, D. Mitchell P. McDouall, M. Winchester. P. Reid, J. Campbell, S. Johnston, M. Wight. Fourth year: M. Lord. P. Hogg, R. Thomson, M. Lindsay. Gold bar for drill, M. Lindsay. Lawn tennis colours, M. Lindsay. Netball colours. M. Lindsay and J. Hay.
