. CROSSING COLLISION DEATH OF A FARMER (Per United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., Nov. 1. At the inquest at Palmerston North on George Glasgow Jamieson, aged 33, a farmer, who was killed at the West street level crossing in a collision with a train on Labour Day. evidence was given that the deceased had twice been refused a driving licence owing to his incompetence in driving. The deceased was driving into the setting sun when the fatality occurred. The verdict was accidental death. CHILD FATALLY INJURED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. Nov. 1. Fatal head injuries were received by Leonie Crawford, aged five years, of Ngahauranga, when she ran into a motor lorry on the Hutt road at Ngahuaranva this afternoon. The child and her mother alighted from a bus and walked round the back of it. They were crossing the roid when the child ran into the back of the lorry and died shortly after. CAR AND TRAIN COLLIDE MOTORIST SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES (Per United Press Association* AUCKLAND, Nov. 1. As the result of head injuries which he received when a motor car he was driving was involved in a collision with a railway train on Friday, Thomas Hughes, of Frankton, aged 50, a builder, died in the Waikato Hospital this afternoon. Hughes did not recover consciousness after the accident, which occurred at the Seddon street crossing, Hamilton. Hughes, who was the only occupant of the car, is survived by his widow and one daughter.
