FORECAST FOR OTAGO OCCASIONAL SHOWERS PREDICTED The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate winds, between south-west and north-west, freshening at times. DOMINION FORECAST CHANGEABLE CONDITIONS GENERALLY The following is the official weather forecast for the Dominion:— Pressure is high to the north of the Dominion and is now rising in the South Island, following the passage eastward of a depression from the South Tasman Sea. Indications are for:— Winds—Moderate to strong southwesterly in the South Island and a southwesterly change advancing up the North Island during the day, directions In the South Island later varying between northwest and south-west. Seas. —(New Zealand waters) —Moderate inshore north of East Cape, otherwise rather rough to rough. Eastern Tasman Sea.—Moderate to strong winds from a westerly quarter, rather rough seas. Weather.—Rather changeable generally, with showers accompanying the advance of a southerly change. Conditions probably continuing unsettled in the western and southern portions of the South Island, improving gradually elsewhere. Cool temperatures.
