The monthly meeting ot the North Otago Federation was held recently. Mrs Webster being in the chair. A number of institutes signified their intention of entering a bay in the forthcoming show. Tea was served by Mesdames Fulford and Dowthwaite.
The Green Island Institute met recently, Mrs Robinson presiding. The motto was ‘Conduct is a mirror which reflects a person’s true self,’ and the roll call “A Scottish joke The competition—vase of flowers—resulted:—Miss Walker 1. Mrs Brown 2. Mrs Goodman gave an inspiring talk on “ Looking forward." A song was given by Master B Thompson a Scottish reading by Mrs Toms, and a humorous sketch by Miss Walker and Mrs Pollock The hostesses were Mesdames L. Miller. Geddes. Mclnnes. Bezett. W Smellie and W Miller.
