FORECAST FOR OTAGO COOL AND CHANGEABLE The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was Issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office In Wellington:— Fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds; weather cool and changeable, with some rain probable; seas rough south of Nugget Point. DOMINION FORECAST CLOUDY AND UNSETTLED The following Is the official weather forecast for the Dominion:— An anti-cyclone extends on to northern New Zealand but pressure has fallen rapidly in the south with the approach of a rather extensive westerly depression. Indications are for:— Winds.—Northerly at first from Cook Strait southwards, but a change to southwesterly advancing from the south during the night: wind from directions between west and south continuing over the North Island, force becoming moderate to strong generally. Seas.—New Zealand waters; Rather rough to rough on the West Coast and about Foveaux Strait, elsewhere slight or moderate but later rising offshore south of East Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong winds between south-west and west possibly rising to gale force In the southern portion; seas rather rough to rough. Weather.—Mainly fair In the Auckland province, elsewhere cloudy ana unsettled with some rain probable m most districts but more especially In the south; temperatures moderate in the north, cold In the south.
