MONTHLY MEETING • The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago A. and- P. Society was held on Thursday afternoon, and was attended by Messrs J. M. Fraser (president) in the chair. A. C. Begs, S. Mosley, D. Ireland. K. Clark, T. D. Dalziel, W. S. Thomson. J. Hellyer, J. Allison. C. M. Bruce, J. Mitchell, J. A. Fowler. D. B. Craighead. and W. Lee. The Finance Committee reported that accounts amounting to £358 17s 5(1 had been submitted for approval and recommended that these be passed for payment.—Carried. The bank balance was £795 10s lid in credit and outstanding cheques amounted to £4!! 9s. the statement of receipts and expenditure for the horse parade wan submitted showing a loss of £l9 9s 9d, which the chairman pointed out was to be expected uhdei the present conditions. It was noted that negotiations with the Dunedin Horticultural Society.-for the holding of their 1940 WinL : Show along with the A. and P. Society*Winter Show were now in progress, and the suggested arrangements agreed to. The secretary reported that the additions to the Tahuna Park Motor Camp were now complete and that the accommodation at the camp was much improved. The new loading bank at the Anderson’s Bay yard to be used for stock arriving at the show by rail was reported to be almost complete, only requiring to be filled in to be ready for use. After fully considering the position it was decided, on the motion of the chairman, to adhere to the previouil decision of the committee not to hold, an export lamb competition this year... It was left to the secretary to obtain sheep for the dog trials at the show.’ and it was noted with satisfaction thalr a supply of good grass was availably for feed for the stock. The list of judges and stewards for the Summer Show, as submitted by the secretary, was agreed to, with somf minor alteration, and the chairman; requested members to note that entrloi closed on November 7. and to do whai they could to obtain entries in th«6ir respective districts.
