CAR SMASH

FALL BETWEEN HOUSE AND .'BANK # ' . .. PLIGHT OF OCCUPANTS Finishing up on its nose, jammed between the wall of a house and a 15foot bank, a. car crashed through a fence in Hill street, between Maclaggan street and Serpentine avenue, shortly' after 7 o’clock on Saturday night. The ’driver was Mr Percy Alfred Smith, a married man, residing at 7 Sydney street, Caversham, and his three passengers were his son and daughter and another young woman. The car was so placed after the accident that the occupants had to break a window and crawl out on to the roof of the house against which it had fallen. From there, a plank was laid across to the pavement on another side of the house to enable them to reach terra firma.

All four occupants of the car received a severe shaking, and Mr Smith was later admitted to Hospital suffering from a fractured tibia.
