SUMMER PASTIMES
BOWLING CLUBS OPEN With the opening on Saturday afternoon of the majority of the local bowling clubs, the season may now be considered to be well under way. Weather conditions were favourable for the occasion and the various greens about the city and suburbs presented an animated appearance as the first games of the season were watched by large numbers of visitors. The Carisbrook and Albion Cricket Clubs also held their official openings on Saturday afternoon and attracted good attendances of members and friends. The bowling clubs which held their official opening ceremonies were Anderson’s Bay, Balmacewen, Caversham, Caledonian, Dunedin, Kaikorai, Logan Park, Opoho, Roslyn, Taieri, Tainui, St. Clair. St. Kilda, and West Harbour.
