"GOD BE WITH BRITAIN"

The Committee of Austrians in England, representing all Austrians in England who do not recognise the annexation of their country by Germany, have passed the following resolution: An hour of great historical decisions has come upon us. Hitler, who by crime came into power, and used his power to perpetrate crime after crime, has now hurled the world into war. Free Britain now takes up arms to end Nazi domination, to restore law and human dignity among the nations. In this hour we desire to be allowed to stand by this country in her fight for the eternal rights of man, and to give all in our power wherever and however we may be needed. In this hour we Austrians, men and women, once more solemnly and openly declare that we have always been and always shall be united in-the conviction and unshakable belief that Austria will and must arise again. In this hour we are filled with a deep gratitude toward Britain, who refused formally to recognise the annexation of Austria, this attempt to murder our fatherland, and offered safety and hospitality to us driven from our country. Britain wants the liberation of Europe. Freedom for Europe means liberation for Austria, the heart of Europe. God be with Britain.
