SOLDIERS' PAY
ALLOWANCES FOR DEPENDENTS (Per United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Oct. 3. Subsidising soldiers' pay out of the taxpayers' money was not favoured by the Chamber of Commerce which, in passing a resolution to that effect, urged that if necessary the Government should increase the allowances for wives and children.
