NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS WANGANUI OPPOSES POSTPONEMENT fPER United Press Association; WANGANUI, Oct 3. The suggestion of the Wellington Rowing Association that the championships should be abandoned this year because of the war and that the Australian' crews' visit should be cancelled was discussed at the annua) meeting of the Wanganui Association to-night ■ when ■ the opinion was expressed that the rowing programme '■should be continued as usual until advice to the contrary was received from the Government The president, Mr "R:. J McDonald advocated that all sport: should be continued as it kept everyone fit. With the help of the clubs, he said, the association would carry on.
