OBJECTIONABLE NEIGHBOURS

TO THE EDITOR Sir,—The writer has been resident in Dunedin for the last 12 months, and very much regrets that a family living in a very much dilapidated house is a perfect menace to the neighbourhood. Two small boys are a pest to all the neighbours by throwing stones on lawns and destroying the native shrubbery which is showing signs in all its beauty When the are spoken to they are impertinent and tell people to shut up. The house they live in is far too small for a family of its size. Can nothing be done to stop this nuisance? The police seemingly cannot do anything. What. then, is to be done with a family that is a disgrace to the locality in which it dwells? I trust the authorities who have power

to deal with such people will assert their authority and look into this complaint and get it settled for the benefit of the residents. —I am, etc.. Native Bush. Dunedin, September 19,
