DUKE OF SUTHERLAND
VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND TENTATIVE PLANS <Fhom Oub Own Correspondent) LONDON, July 17. According to tentative plans, the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland are to spend over two months in New Zealand. Although he had originally considered visiting the Bay of Islands for deep-sea fishing almost immediately after his arrival, his Grace has now decided to see something of the North and South Islands first. The Duke and Duchess expect to reach Auckland on January 1 in their yacht Sans Peur, There they will spend three days before leaving for Waitomo, Rotorua, National Park, Wanganui, and Wellington. Four days will be spent in Wellington, after which the Sans Peur will be reboarded and they will sail for Lyttelton via the Marlborough Sounds. After Christchurch they will visit Mount Cook, the Hermitage. Queenstown, and Dunedin. From Dunedin they will sail for Stewart Island, and then work their way round to the fiords and the Milford Sound. After seeing the Sutherland Falls, they will sail straight up the West Coast, round the North Cape, and down to Russell, where five weeks are to be spent. The Duke and Duchess will fish round Cape Brett, Whangaroa, and the Cavallis. They ex* pect to leave for Sydney on March 3. It is understood that the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland will bring six guests with them. Arrangements for their stay in New Zealand have been made by the Government Tourist and-Publicity Department in London. ■ •
