The, monthly meeting of the Queenstown teVesbyterian Women's Missionary Union was held on Thursday afternoon, w,hen Mrs D. K. Boyd presided over ar\ attendance of 23 members. The Rev,. J. C. Fussell gave a devotional aoWess based on the text .Ye shine as lights in the world.. These words of tPaul to the Philippians were intended tti be an inspiration and encouragement to the leaders and mem' bers of the first Christian church in Europe. Paxil's only object in life was to spread tiw Gospel. The Church today had only one thing to do in the world, and that was mission work, to spread the Gospel. H the so-called Christian natifcms lived up to Christ s way for themljthere would not be all the misunderstanding and thoughts.of war. To the \ elory of God our ]ob was to be missionaries, uniting our prayers with the; rorayers of others and holding forth the,Word of Life as shining lights. The rrtihd of Christ was the hope of the worhl. If the so-called Christian nations *tad really lived up to Christ's way for, them there would not be all the misunderstanding and thoughts of war. , ,_■■'. -,„ Mrs Boyd expressed thanks to Mr Fussell on behalf of Vhe members. Arrangements werd made for the forthcoming Busy Berts' concert which will take place next M'dnday, and also for the spring flower \ show. Stallholders and class stewvixds were appointed. \ *, Mrs Tripp gave a report of the recent P.A. meeting at Alexandra, and a missionary letter from the TuVrakina Maori Girls' College was read. \ The meeting closed with ja hymn and the benediction. \
