FORECAST FOR OTAGO LIKELIHOOD OF SNOW The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m, yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Fresh to strong southerly winds. Weather very cold and unsettled, with ram and snow showers. Sea moderate, but rising. f DOMINION FORECAST FALL IN TEMPERATURES The following is the official weather forecast for the Dominion:— A deep complex depression covers New Zealand, with lowest pressure in the west Cook Strait. Pressure is rising slowly over South-eastern Australia. Indications are for:— Winds.—North-westerly at first over the North Island, southerly over the South, but strong southerlies probably becoming general within about 24 hours.

Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rough north of Farewell Spit; elsewhere moderate, but later rising south of East Cape and in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong south-westerly to southerly winds: rough seas.

Weather—Fair on the west coast of the South Island; elsewhere cloudy and unsettled, with widespread intermittent rain, and snow on ranges; snow extending at times to the lower levels in the eastern southern areas of the South Island: temperatures becoming colder.
