Bay Lodge met in the Masonic Hall, St Kilda, last Monday, when Arch Druid Bro. W. A. Ruston presided over a good attendance of members. Grand President Bro. A. J. Hinton. Grand Vice-president Bro. A. R. Rankin, and P.D.P. Bro. H. Tyrrell, of the Board of Management, attended officially and wore given a reception with musical honours. Correspondence from Grand Lodge advised that members who could comply with the usual form could still receive the £6 maternity bonus, providing that they had not received it from any other source. An invitation from {he Court Woodland's Pride was accepted for August 21. As this will be quarter night, the lodge will meet at 7.30 p.m., and attend the Forresters function later. The boards reported on the sick members and Bro. Dennison, of the Temuka Lodge, who was In the Public Hospital, Dunedin. The business being disposed of at an early hour. G.P. Bro. Hinton and bis officers addressed the brethren on the many issues being given consideration by the board. The G.P. spoke on the social security scheme, and also gave an interesting account of his visit to the North Island Grand Lodge, Grand Vice-president Bro. A. R. Rankin gave an account of bis visit to the Canterbury Grand Lodge session. Past District President Bro. Tyrrell handled the figures in regard to the finances of the various funds. The arrangements for the annual social in the Town Hall. St. Kilda. on September 13 were finalised. Dancing will be held in one hall and trump whist in the other. The congratulations of the lodge were extended to Past Arch Bro. E. J. Brown on-his recent marriage.
