RIBBON PARADE

OTAGO KENNEL CLUB On Monday evening last, the Otago Kennel Club staged a successful ribbon parade in the agricultural hall adjoining His Majesty’s Theatre. A good attendance of exhibitors and other spectators was able to admire the large number of dogs paraded. The latter' were of a very good standard, and the work of the judges (Messrs J. D. Mer- , cer and J. Curie) was in many classes difficult, but their decisions were well received and met v/ith general approval. The best exhibit in the parade was Mr D. Brain’s cocker spaniel bitch,, which secured the special ribbons for best sporting dog or bitch, the grand challenge for all breeds, and best dog or bitch in show. Mr Brain also secured the special ribbon for best non-sport-ing dog or bitch with his Samoyed. .. Mr G. D. Wright’s smooth-coated fox terrier was the best terrier, and Mrs Mason’s Pomeranian was best toy dog or bitch.
