CITY POLICE COURT
Saturday, July 22 (Before Mr H. J. Dixon. S.M.) Charge of Drunkenness Mary Ann Tohill. aged 76, was charged with drunkenness, having previously been convicted of a similar offence within the last six months.— Senior Sergeant Claasen said that the defendant was helplessly drunk when arrested. She had -injured her ankle, and had to be removed to Hospital —On the settlor sergeant’s application a week’s remand was granted A first offender was fined 10s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. Alleged Theft of Bicycle William Stewart Home Paulin, 55 years of age, a statutory first offender, pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness. and was fined 10s in default 24 hours’ imprisonment.
A further charge of having, at Studnolme stolen a bicycle valued at £5 the property of James Kirk, was also preferred against Paulin.—On the application of Senior Sergeant Claasen who stated that the police desired to make further inquiries the accused was remanded until Wednesday.
