DAYLIGHT BAKING
OPERATION IN DOMINION LABOUR MEMBER'S PROPOSAL (From Oku Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 20. i\ system of daylight baking for New Zealand was advocated by Mr J. O’Brien (Govt,, Westland) in a question to the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr D. G. Sullivan), of which he gave notice in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr O’Brien will ask the Minister if he will investigate a system of daylight baking with a view to putting it into operation. In a note to his question, Mr O’Brien said it had been reported that properly inaugurated daylight baking would reduce the price of bread by 2d a loaf and would supply consumers with better and more nutritious bread.
