EROSION CONTINUES AT ST. CLAIR Erosion by the sea has assumed serious proportions at St Clair, and near the St. Hilda end of the Esplanade large washouts have occurred. As this picture shows, a temporary wall of sandbags and bush is being constructed to prevent further washing away of the sand.
