CHEMICAL WORKERS
STRIKE AT WESTFIELD EFFORT TO RAISE FUNDS MEETING IN AUCKLAND (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 20. A resolution to spare no effort to raise funds for the help of the Westfield chemical workers while they are on strike was passed at a meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Federation of Labour in the Trades Hall to-night. The meeting did not discuss the union’s decision to ask for de-registration, the secretary stating that this was a purely domestic matter, in which the branch could not go beyond making the gesture implied by its resolution.
