HOSPITAL BENEFITS
THE HANMER AND ROTORUA INSTITUTIONS CORRESPONDING REDUCTION (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 20. The Minister of Health (Mr P. Fraser) announced to-day that in accordance with a recent decision of the Government the treatment of in-patients at the Queen Mary Hospital at Hanmer, which was administered by the Health Department, and at the Rotorua Sanatorium, which was administered by .the Tourist Department, had now been made the subject of hospital benefits in respect to the treatment afforded in these institutions on and after July 1 by a reduction of the ordinary scale charges by 6s per day, the same amount as is paid to public and private hospitals under the hospital benefits provisions. Payment at this rate is to be made from the Social Security Fund to the departments administering these institutions.
