GIFT TO CITY COUNCIL
£2OO FOR BOTANIC GARDENS LADY NORWOOD’S ACTION (Special to Dailv Times) WELLINGTON. July 19. Lady Norwood had offered £2OO as a gift to the City Council to improve the begonia house in the Botanic Gardens, said the Mayor (Mr T, C. A. Hislop) at the adjourned 'meeting of the Wellington City Council. Mr Hislop said he had written to Lady Norwood accepting her gift and saying that he would have an investigation made to see how best improvements could be made. “With this splendid lead, wc may get additional funds, put in some ourselves, and get excellent results,” Mr Hislop said. The council passed a motion expressing appreciation of Lady Norwood’s generosity. ______
