GENERAL PERSHING
VISITING BATTLEFIELDS PROMISE TO TROOPS KEPT (Independent Cable Service) LONDON, June 8. (Received June 9, at 0.15 a.m.) General Pershing arrived at Plymouth on his way to Paris. He is keeping the promise given to troops during the war that he would visit France every year and make sure that the graves were being tended. He is making his seventy-first trip in defiance of his doctor’s warning that another trip to France would mean his death.
