TERRITORIALS FOR MOSGIEL

RECRUITING CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE APPOINTED A public meeting convened by the Mayor of Mosgiel (Mr W. P. Hartstonge) was held in Mosgiel last week to consider the question ,of forming a branch of the Territorial Association in Mosgiel. Besides a good representation of the public, the meeting was attended by Dr R. Fulton (chairman) and Mr J. M. White representing the Dunedin branch. The Mayor explained the urgent necessity for forming a Local Committee which should aim at forming a half company, or at least a platoon of the Territorial Forces for Mosgiel Dr Fulton and Mr J.. M. White addressed the meeting, explaining fully the aims and objects of the Territorial Association, and what had been achieved in Dunedin. On the motion of Mr W. H. Gillon it was decided that a committee of the Territorial Association be formed in Mosgiel to assist the Government in every way possible to stimulate recruiting arid to form at least a platoon and to continue' in office to give effect to the objects of the Territorial Assop'.ation.

The following were elected to a provisional committee with power to add:—Chairman, the Mayor (Mr W P. Hartstonge); secretary, Captain Pugh: members—Messrs H. C. Connor. W. A. Gillon. A. F. Cheyne. iun.. J. B Hey. F Thurlow C. Cole
