MINISTERIAL The Prime Minister (Mr M. J. Savage) yesterday vacated the ministerial residence in Molesworth street, where he has resided for the past three and a-half years, and took up his residence in his new home at 66 Harbour View road, Northland. The Minister of Agriculture and the Acting-Minister of Marketing (Mr W. Lee Martin) will arrive in Dunedm this afternoon from the north and in the evening he will attend the social gathering to be held in connection with.the Farmers' Union conference. To-morrow he will attend the annual conference of the South Island DairyAssociation and he will return to Wellington on Friday. The Minister will be a guest at the Grand Hotel. '

The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Adam Hamilton) returned south by the express last evening. . Mr F. Waite, M.L.C., returned to Balclutha by the express last evening. Mr F. T. M. Kissel, chief electrical engineer, Public Works Department. Wellington, is at present in Dunedin. He is staying at the City Hotel. - Professor W. Riddet. of Massey College, Palmerston North, is at present visiting Dunedin. He is staying st Wain's Hotel.

Mr Frank Drake left yesterday to attend a business conference in Wellington.

Mr L. M. Wright was a passenger for Wellington by the through exDress. yesterday.

Mr A. H. Fraer, of the local staff of the Land and Income Tax Department, left yesterday on temporary transfer to Wellington. Mr H. F. Sincock, general manager of Donaghy's, Ltd., left by the through express for the north yesterday on a stage of a visit to Australia and the East.

Captain W. Pollard, district artillery officer, left by the through express yesterday to attend a conference ■of artillery officers at army headquarter*. Wellington. Mr W. N. Searle, late ; of Oamaru and Dunedin, has been elected to the honorary staff of Westminster Hospital, London, as obstetric surgeon. Westminster Hospital was recently rebuilt at a cost of £1,000,000 and was opened by their Majesties, the King and Queen, last April. It is the teaching hospital of the Westminster Medical School. Mr Searle is also on the honorary staff of the Chelsea Women's Hospital.

North-bound passengers by Union Airways yesterday morning were Mr A. J. Blackburn, Mrs S. Clothier, Mrs H. Hopkirk for Christchurch, Mr A. M. Peters for Nelson, Misses A. and D. Goldsmith for Wellington, and Miss J. Ewing for Auckland. The southbpund airliner was deleyed by adverse weather and reached Taieri at 4.30 p.m. with Messrs J. Donald and L. C. Miller from Wellington, Mr L. J, Whinray from Palmerston North, Miss E. M. Gooding, Messrs A. Tilbury. B. P. Dillon and L. Beaumont from Christchurch.
