INFANTS LIFE SAVED
HEROIC WORKING MAN Lying in Hull Royal Infirmary i* a working-man hero who risked his life in saving that of a old child by shielding the little one from the wneels of a cart. The man is Herbert Mitchell, aged 48, labourer, of Lister street, Hull, and he has several broken ribs and internal bruises. He is stated to be progressing fairly favourably. The child’s pram was overturned when a startled horse reared up. As the cart moved forward ’'Mitchell flung himself on top of the infant. Two wheels of the cart passed over him, but the child was not injured. The child had just recovered from pneumonia, and was being taken on its first outing when the accident occurred. An aunt was wheeling the pram at the time.
