The Ettrick branch held its May meeting at the residence of Mi's W. Tonkin, who presided. Games and competitions were enjoyed, the winners being Mesdames Kelly and Hainsworth and Misses E. Gibson and K. Deans. Mrs Watt was the winner of the lucky cup. The hostesses were Mesdames Tonkin and Watt.

The members of the Tuapeka West branch had the pleasure on Saturday last of a visit from Miss Violet MacMillan, of Dunedin, who demonstrated the making of an eiderdown quilt. The hostesses were Mrs P. Fahey and Miss Belcher

At the monthly meeting of the Herbert branch, Mrs J. E. Hill presided. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr Mclvor. The competitions resulted: Chutney— Mrs John Budge I, Mrs Boutherway 2, Mrs Marshall 3. Nut loaf—Mrs Gerrie 1, Mrs Campbell 2, Mrs Vass 3. Single Bloom—Miss Irvine 1. Mrs Beckingsale 2, Mesdames Gerrie and J. E. Hill (equal) 3.
