Forrester —Millar A pretty afternoon wedding was solemnised at the Cathedral in Nelson recently, when Edwin John, only son of Mr and Mrs J. B. Forrester, of Ranfurly, Central Otago, was married to Vonda Phoebe, younger daughter of Mr W. Millar, of Nelson, and the late Mrs Millar, The ceremony was performed by Dean Haggitt, while Mr Claughton presided at he organ. The bride was given away by her father, and made an attractive picture in a frock of white nei oyer off-white satin, with lace-embroidered puff sleeves of net and a wide satin belt. The full skirt, with its lace embroidered hem, continued into a train. A tulle veil was held in place with pleated tulle attached to a circlet of orange blossom. A bouquet_ of begonias and lilies—cream shading and pink—was carried. Frocks of net over leaf green satin, featuring the full skirt, wide belt and puff sleeves of the bride’s frock, were worn by the two bridesmaids, Miss Jean Logan and Miss Valma Nicholas, while a tiny replica of their frocks was worn by the flower girl, Miss Raye Millar. Sprays of pink begonias adorned the hair. The chief bridesmaid carried a bouquet of pink begonias and dahlias, while the two small ’maids carried posies of the same flowers.

Mr Stanley Smith, of Ranfurly. attended as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Mai Mai Tearooms, where the guests were received by Mrs A. B, Nicholas, the bride’s sister, who wore a two-piece suit in clover shade with hat and shoulder spray to tone, and furs. The bridegroom’s mother, who assisted as hostess, wore a brown ensemble and fur with hat to tone. For travelling the bride wore a light tan American frock, and fur coat with hat to tone. Mr and Mrs Forrester’s future home will be at Ranfurly, Central Otago.

Salmon—Hamblett Two church families were united on Thursday, last when Noel Frederick Colne, only son of Mrs L. Salmon, of Wellington, and the late Mr F. W. Salmon, and grandson of the Rev. Wynter

Blathwayt, who was well known in Dunedin some years ago, was married to Doris Maude, eldest daughter of the Rev. and Mrs W. A. Hamblett, of Dunedin. The wedding was at St. Matthew’s Church, which had been beautifully decorated for the occasion with deep pink chrysanthemums and blue delphiniums. The bride’s father performed the ceremony, which was choral, and Mr Axel Newton was at the organ. A lovely frock of wind-swept chiffon was worn by the bride, who was escorted by her brother. Mr Selwyn Hamblett. A posy of orange blossoms was caught in the folds of the softlygathered bodice, and tiny sprays of the same flowers were caught on either side of the pleated halo, from which fell her tulle veil'. Her bouquet was of white chrysanthemums and roses. Azure blue taffeta was worn by the only bridesmaid, Miss Marjorie Hamblett, her frock having a full skirt, round which tiny posies of cyclamen orchids had been attached to the centre of circles of narrow cyclamen taffeta braiding. A topknot of orchids held her shoulder-length veil in place, and she carried a bouquet in shades of cyclamen. _ _ The best man was Mr Geoffrey Fraser and the ushers were Messrs Andrew and Matthew Hamblett. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Somerset Lounge of the Savoy. Mrs Hamblett and Mrs Salmon received the guests, the former wearing a gown of heavy wool lace. Over this she wore a fur cape, and she carried a bouquet of autumn-tmted chrysanthemums. Mrs Salmon chose a dove-grey embossed chenille velvet ensemble, and her bouquet was in shades of pink.

For travelling the bride wore a furtrimmed navy tailored coat with a Breton velour hat and navy accessories. Mr and Mrs Salmon’s future home will be in Wellington.
