MONASTERY FARMS
CONTROL IN AUSTRIA A CHANGE ANNOUNCED VIENNA, May 18. (Received May 17, at 11.55 p.m.) Herr Buerckel has taken over the administration of 9000 farms belonging to the Augustinian monastery at Klosterneuberg which lie within the precincts of Vienna. Simultaneously they halved the tenants’ rent. The monastery has been permitted to retain the administration of those properties farmed by priests, but they have been taken out of the church’s control until further notice.
