RETIREMENT OF MR E. H. GIBSON
PRESENTATION FROM BIOLOGICAL STAFF
Mr E. Berber Gibson. F.R.Z.S., London, was recently the recipient of a presentation from the stall ot the University biological departments, to which he has been preparator fox the last 28 years Mr Gibson’s connection with the departments will end on his retirement at the end of this month All the officers of the departments
were present, as well as a number of other friends, including the chancellor (Mr W J Morrell)
The presentation was made by Dr W. B Benham. F R.S. emeritus professor. who spoke of the unbroken period of friendship and co-opera-tion which marked Mr Gibson’s long period of service He also referred to Mr Gibson’s high professional skill both in the mounting of animals and in the articulation and setting up of skeletons His reputation in the latter field was indicated by the fact that his services had been sought in Wellington for the setting up of the skeleton of Phar Lap Dr Benham ended by wishing Mr Gibson a long busy and happy retirement
Occasion was also taken to wish Miss Fyfe bon voyage on her trip to America and to make a small presentation to her
